TBEA installs 10MW transformer at Three Gorges offshore wind

TBEA Hengyang Transformer Co., Ltd has installed a 10 MW offshore wind turbine tower transformer at the site of Three Gorges Energy’s offshore wind power project in Changle, Fujian Province.
It is reported that this is China’s first domestic 10 MW offshore wind tower transformer to achieve grid-connected operation.
Offshore wind turbine tower transformer installed in the wind turbine tower, tower space is limited, poor heat dissipation. At the same time, the high salt and high corrosion environment at sea, large wind turbine operating load changes frequently, the transformer miniaturization, heat dissipation, corrosion and safety and reliability requirements are higher.
In recent years, in order to enhance the localization and independence of offshore wind power transmission and transformer equipment, TBEA has launched comprehensive research and development into offshore wind power transmission and transformer equipment.
In 2019, TBEA’s R&D team launched the offshore wind power tower transformer development project, adopting marine anti-corrosion process technology, environmentally friendly synthetic ester oil with high ignition point and H-class insulation to achieve key technological breakthroughs in tower transformers.
