ABB Power Grids Finland has commited to investing in a new transformer assembly line in Vaasa

ABB Power Grids will expand the use of its factory premises in Strömberg Park, Vaasa, and recruit a total of about 30 new employees, both for production and white-collar workers. Production recruitments are carried out as apprenticeship training together with the vocational training organization Vamia. Recruitment will start in early June.

“I am glad that we can offer dozens of new talents the chance to get involved to grow the ranks of top experts and build a future of sustainable energy for future generations. We have very good experiences of apprenticeship training for several decades, ” says Toni Koskinen , Business Director for Transformers.

“Electrification has a key role to play in halting climate change, and the transformer is one of the key technologies in the ongoing energy revolution that will enable us to have a stronger, smarter and more environmentally friendly electricity grid.

The investment enables us to maintain delivery security at the highest level and our ability to meet the constantly growing expectations of our customers and the market also in the future, ” says Matti Vaattovaara , President and CEO of ABB Power Grids Finland.
