Indonesian grid operator PLN (Persero) has completed work on the 150 kV Pasaman – Simpang Empat Transmission Network and the 150 kV Simpang Empat substation.

PLN completed work on the 150 kV Simpang Empat Substation on March 04, 2022. This operation began with the provision of a 52 km transmission line connecting the 150 kV Simpang Empat Substation with the 150 kV Pasaman Substation, which has 1x 60 MVA Power Transformer capacity.

With the operation of Line 2, the reliability of the 150 kV Pasaman – Simpang Empat transmission is getting better. With the addition of 60 MVA from the 150 kV Pasaman Substation, the total capacity of substations installed in West Sumatra currently stands at 1,464 MVA.

General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Central Sumatra Development Main Unit (PLN UIP Sumbagteng), Alland Asqolani, appreciated the local government and the Pasaman community for supporting the GI and SUTT development process.

“The construction of this GI and SUTT has a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) value of 79.81 percent with an investment value of around $8.5 million,” he said.

Alland hopes that the electricity infrastructure development that has been implemented in the West Sumatra region can be enjoyed by the entire community and can improve the wheels of the economy so that sustainable development goals can be achieved.
